OECD Working Party on Indicators of Information Society Meeting, Paris, 16 – 17 June 2010


The OECD had organized the “Working Party on Indicators of Information Society (WPIIS)” annual meeting in Paris on 16 – 17 June 2010. The working party was first composed to monitor, supervise, direct and co-ordinate the statistical work and contribute to the development of indicators and quantitative analysis needed to meet the requirements of the Committee for Information, Computer and Communications Policy (ICCP) and its subsidiary bodies.
The meeting was attended by most of the OECD countries in addition to “Observers non member countries” among which is Egypt. The meeting discussed several issues related to ICT indicators, like the OECD ICT MODEL SURVEYS (household and enterprises surveys), MEASURING ICT ENGAGEMENT AND DEPENDENCY, MEASURING TRENDS IN ICT TRADE, AN OECD MODEL SURVEY IN E-HEALTH AND E-GOVERNMENT, MEASURING INNOVATION, GREEN ICT, DETERMINTS OF ICT EXPENDITURE BY HOUSEHOLDS AND MONITORING WSIS TARGETS.
Egypt presented the efforts done last year in ICT measurements and statistics benefiting from the international methodologies set by OECD and other international organizations.
