The WSIS Forum 2013 was held from the 13-17 May 2013 at the ITU Headquarter in Geneva.



The WSIS Forum 2013 was held from the 13-17 May 2013 at the ITU Headquarter in Geneva. The Forum attracted more than 1800 WSIS Stakeholders from more than 140 countries. Several high-level representatives of the wider WSIS Stakeholder community attended the Forum with more than 60 ministers and deputies, several ambassadors, CEOs and Civil Society leaders contributing actively towards the program of the Forum. The Egyptian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology was one of the participants in this important event through a reputable delegate from the ministry. 
It is worth mentioning that this annual gathering of WSIS Stakeholders is organized by the ITU, UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP. It provides an opportunity for various discussion tracks on the WSIS process including the overall review of the implementation of the WSIS outcomes. Besides, annual WSIS Forums provide a route to monitor the progress made by all stakeholders in advancing action lines, as defined at the World Summit on the Information Society.
The WSIS 2013 main outcomes are reviewing the emerging trends in the Information Society as well as the development of recommendations relevant for creating a knowledge societies for peace and sustainable development. On the other hand, one of the major outcomes of the event was the agreement on outline for the forward looking outcome.
