The Partnership on Measuring ICT for Development firstly presented the Core list of ICT indicators at the WSIS Thematic Meeting on Measuring the Information Society (Geneva, February 2005). The principal objective of the list is to help countries to produce internationally comparable data, as it is one of the objectives of the partnership to consolidate standards at the global level, taking into consideration the demands and special circumstances of developing countries.
